Peter Mauric is Head of Public Affairs at Parity Technologies. In this role, Peter serves as a senior advisor and helps oversee the global development, positioning and adoption of the Polkadot network and Web 3.0. He provides high-stakes strategic counsel, creative communications, regulatory guidance, governance engagement, lobbying, public affairs and business development support across a wide range of industries.

Peter started his career as a political consultant in New York City, supporting fundraising, messaging and get out the vote efforts. After his first election cycle, Peter joined the Communications and Research team for the following New York State Attorney General election, where he developed opposition research and built the candidate’s initial messaging framework, leading to a successful reelection effort. While working on that campaign, Peter began supporting start-up public affairs and strategic consulting firm M Public Affairs. After a few months, he joined the firm full time, where he helped grow the company from a handful of employees and clients to a national powerhouse. M Public Affairs was rebranded to Kivvit when it fully merged with Obama advisor David Axelrod’s ASGK Public Strategies in 2016.

At Kivvit, Peter established himself as a leader in coalition development, regulatory engagement, strategic + crisis communications and media relations. He worked closely with tech innovators, large-scale infrastructure developers, energy companies, news organizations and publishers. Peter played a central role in both client services and core product development, driving the adoption of an entirely new approach to the firm’s work. He managed the implementation of information operations and analytics software and protocols, which were developed both in-house at his direction and acquired through third-party partnerships he managed.

In 2018, Peter joined Parity Technologies, first focusing on Ethereum governance engagement. Peter has since counseled Kusama, Polkadot and its constituent ecosystem teams around the world, successfully launching in 2020 with a multi-billion-dollar market capitalization.

Peter graduated from Lehigh University with a Political Science degree, where he focused his study on economics and policy and led all student-run investment portfolios. He is an Eagle Scout and lives with his partner Randi and cat Larry in the East Village.
